Job Details

40 hours per week on the 6W Neuro Stepdown unit
Must have overall strong Neuro experience
Charge Nurse available 24/7
Job Requirements

Must have BLS certification
ACLS & NIHSS are preferred
Must have a strong background in Neuro sciences
Experience with DBS (Deep Brain Stimulators), Stroke, Seizures, Surgical/PostOp Spines, Neurological Disorders
Ability to titrate drips only by physician's orders in a step-down setting
Schedule Information

Travelers need to be flexible with their scheduling
There may be shifts of 3 in a row but not guaranteed
Weekend day positions: Friday, Saturday and Sundays
Weekend night positions: Friday, Saturday, and Sundays OR Saturday, Sundays, and Mondays
Weekday nights: every other weekend or 3 weekend shifts per schedule (weekend shifts = Saturday and Sundays)
Unit Specific Information

Unit name: 10 WEST - Neuro
Number of beds: 20 beds (14 floor, 6 stepdown)
Ratios: 1:3 for Stepdown, 1:5-6 for Floor patients
Nurse aids on the unit with Ratios 1:7-10
RT Equipment include floor Vents managed by RT & physician
Tele is available on the unit - RN's verify monitor tech's strip reading in Epic
Float possibly to 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E first priority; then to other departments if needed
Holiday rotation for travelers
Scrub Color/Dress code: Any combination of white and royal blue
Unit/Department specific orientation: 1 Shift on the unit; Nightshift 7a-7:30p
Additional Details

Can only submit to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system
Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
Previous perm candidates must be gone for 2 years
Previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years
Travel teams must be submitted together in 1 email
Submittals include a valid driver's license copy
