**Experience:** Minimum 3 years, with at least 2 years in PICU

**Certifications:** BLS, PALS

**Must-Have:** Experience with Cerner EMR; not accepting first-time travelers

**Job Description:**

- Work in an 8-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with an average census of 2.
- Provide care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 to 2.
- Responsible for reading telemetry strips using Spacelab tele monitors.
- Handle ventilators; support available with 24/7 in-house Pediatric Hospitalist Intensivists.
- No nurse aides or IV team available.
- Collaborate with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services.
- May be placed on standby if scheduled when census is low.
- Required to float to general pediatrics and burn units as needed.
- Attend floor-specific orientation: 2 shifts in PICU, 1 shift in pediatrics, and 1 shift in burn unit.
- Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, dehydration, seizures, suicide attempts, overdoses, and poisoning.
- Follow weekend and holiday work requirements with a commitment to working 2 out of every 3 holidays.
- Ensure proficiency with Medfusion pumps for medication administration.
- Navy blue scrubs are required for this position.
- Note: Hospital may cancel up to 3 shifts per contract, potentially paying full hours in lieu of cancellation.
