**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** Telemetry - Observation **Job Duration:** 12 Months **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights, Every Other Weekend, First to Float **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years preferred **License:** Required **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS **Must-Have:** - Ability to read and interpret rhythm strips independently - Pass the Basic Dysrhythmia exam (three attempts available) - Preferably experience in Neuro and Cardiac care **Job Description:** - Work in an acute care setting specializing in Telemetry for observation - Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 - Care for patients admitted for 48 hours or less, including those with conditions such as chest pain or post-cath lab - Use step-by-step protocols for administering Cardizem, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, and Dopamine - Collaborate with 24/7 staffed Tele/Monitor Techs and read own strips - Charge Nurse has an assignment of one patient - Self-scheduling with balance ensured by the manager; block scheduling allowed - Weekend commitment of six shifts within a six-week period - Holiday requirement of two major and two minor shifts - Float primarily within the three monitor pods, with occasional floating to MedSurg or higher acuity floors (telemetry patients only) - Navy scrub dress code **Additional Notes:** - Joint Commission heart attack and stroke center with intervention capabilities - Positive traveler feedback with many extending contracts - Accessible management and resources available - Close teamwork among all monitor units
