**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Observation **Job Specialty:** FS **Job Duration:** 14 weeks **Shift:** Nights, 3x12 Hr **Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience **License:** Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC) **Certifications:** - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) by the American Heart Association **Must-Have:** - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program - Proficiency in English (read, write, speak) **Job Description:** - Provide nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with a range of health conditions from simple to complex - Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments - Assist physicians in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments - Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observing and intervening as necessary - Administer prescribed medications - Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products - Deliver competent patient care - Interact with patients and families to share care plans during the hospital stay and at discharge - Inform patients and families of hospital procedures - Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel - Delegate tasks to support staff - Perform other assigned duties Required skills include knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures; ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services; maintain effective working relationships with colleagues; possess good verbal and written communication skills, and respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills are also necessary.
