**Job Description:**
- Assess and reassess young adult, adult, and elderly patients utilizing the nursing process.
- Demonstrate basic competency in specialized cardiac procedures and equipment, such as cardiac monitoring and care of patients pre/post CABG.
- Manage care for patients pre/post interventional cardiac procedures, including maintaining and pulling sheaths and using Angioseal/Vasoseal.
- Administer specialized medications, drips, and titration, including the use of an ACT Machine.
- Provide sedation, pain management, and chest tube care/insertion.
- Handle TPN/PPN and central lines, including IV therapy, IVADD, and infusion therapy.
- Maintain accurate and continued nursing documentation, ensuring confidentiality and patient dignity.
- Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and families.
- Interact professionally with patients and families, involving them in the formation and updating of a mutually agreed-upon plan of care.
- Formulate and evaluate teaching plans, including family in instruction as appropriate.
- Supervise other healthcare staff involved in patient care and allocate and monitor their work.
- Assist physicians with procedures in the department.
- Respond promptly to changes in workload to achieve optimal productivity and efficiency.
- Participate in performance improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes, processes, and the work environment.
- Serve as a preceptor to orient new employees.
- Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, staff meetings, and workshops.
- Maintain operation of patient care equipment, including mechanical adjustments, and ensure adequate stock of supplies.
- Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and the ability to function under stressful situations.
- Meet all departmental specific competencies.
- Assist with housekeeping and patient transportation as needed.
- Adhere to dress code and policies addressing infection control, safety, and personnel guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Serve as a team leader and role model for other staff members.
