**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Observation **Job Specialty:** Emergency Room Registered Nurse **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** Rotating shifts including Day, Evening, and Night; Weekends, Holidays, On-Call, and Callback as needed **Guaranteed Hours:** **Experience:** Two years of Medical-Surgical experience **License:** Registered Nurse License (State-specific License ONLY) **Certifications:** - Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (Required) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (Preferred) **Must-Have:** - Telemetry experience **Job Description:** - Provide care in a fast-paced Observation unit for adult patients requiring short-term evaluation to determine hospital admission or safe discharge. - Manage a unit with 24/7 provider coverage and an average of 20 to 27 patient turnovers per day, with a stay averaging 27 hours. - Deliver care to a diverse adult population, handling both emergency observation and admitted boarding patients. - Utilize critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. - Adjust to rapidly changing patient conditions and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. - Adhere to nursing protocols, standards, and regulations to maintain safety and quality.
