Administers treatments and occupational agents as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The staff therapist coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (OTA, Patient Care Assist., etc.), and participates in scheduling patients, as well as all other aspects of patient care within the Department. The OT participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in QA activities. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: E = Exceeds the Standard M = Meets the Standard NI = Needs ImprovementDemonstrates Competency in the Following of Patient Care and Application of KnowledgePerforms treatments and provides services to level of licensure and other duties as assigned within the LPN scope of practice.210Able to provide detailed and timely patient report for the continuation of care and planning at shift change and upon handoff of care210Demonstrates the ability to assess patients of all ages to establish an individual POC for Occupational Therapy. Basic computer knowledge Knowledge of blood borne pathogens, universal precautions, hazardous chemicals and fire and safety policies and proceduresWork Environment: Works in a well-lighted and ventilated office area, as well as throughout patient care areas. Likely exposure with blood, body fluid, hazardous materials, radiation, and infectious diseases.
