**Job Description:**
- Perform professional occupational therapy activities involving planning, evaluating, establishing, and implementing individual and group treatment activities as directed by a physician.
- Interpret a physician's referral to select an appropriate standardized evaluation procedure.
- Evaluate patients in areas such as independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play-leisure abilities, social skills, and various psychosocial skills.
- Interpret data and develop a treatment plan involving short-term and long-term goals, frequency, and duration of treatment.
- Assist patients in carrying out these procedures through the design and fabrication of adaptive equipment and orthotic devices, joint protection, and body mechanics.
- Inform patients and families about goals and progress.
- Assist with discharge planning by ordering equipment and instructing patients on a home therapy plan.
- May supervise students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of principles and practices in professional occupational therapy and materials and supplies used in the program.
- Skill in organizing and instructing occupational therapy activities.
- Ability to interpret prescriptions related to therapy needed.
- Good interpersonal skills for establishing effective working relations with staff.
- Ability to communicate instructions and technical information to patients.
- Some computer skills.
