Job Title: Physical Therapist

Job Specialty: Rehabilitation Therapy

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day - 5x8 - 9am - 5pm

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience: Broad-based clinical experience in multiple settings preferred

License: Must hold an active Physical Therapist license

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support certification and valid driver's license

Must-Have: Active state license and flu vaccination

Job Description:
- Provide assessment, perform evaluations, identify therapy diagnoses, and formulate treatment plans with goals.
- Implement, supervise, and modify therapy plans of care based on patient response.
- Review clinical records and case histories; attend care conferences and regular meetings/rounds.
- Collaborate with team members to arrange appropriate medical equipment and establish care plans for discharge.
- Document patient encounters, findings, treatments, and recommendations according to policies.
- Work with in-patient and out-patient populations in various settings as assigned.
- Direct the work of support staff, students, or interns.
- Develop and conduct patient education and therapy programs based on patient and family needs.
- Provide clear home exercise programs and ensure understanding through feedback and demonstration.
- Advise patients and families to facilitate self-care and independence.
- Assist senior staff in administrative matters, clinic operations, and specialty/research areas as appropriate.
- Utilize hospital computer systems for patient information and communication.
- Assist in acquisition and fitting of durable medical equipment/devices.
- Maintain supply stocks and clinical equipment at acceptable levels.
- Stay current with billing procedures/mechanisms for services and supplies reimbursement.
- Perform therapy services in various settings unique to the community or primary assignment.
- Educate staff and patient families on therapeutic exercises, activities, and equipment.
- Participate in committees, management duties, and represent the Rehabilitation Services Department as requested.
- Provide consultations, presentations, and in-services to medical staff and other healthcare personnel.
- Participate in clinical education and in-service to stay updated on therapy procedures and techniques.
- Adhere to regulatory and practice standards set by professional associations.
- Follow confidentiality and quality assurance standards.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to cross-cultural issues.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
