**Job Description:**
- Plan, organize, and direct departmental operations for various patient settings.
- Evaluate each patient and develop an appropriate plan of treatment.
- Implement and supervise treatment programs, recognizing patient problems and possible complications.
- Review patient progress with the physician, discussing necessary alterations in treatment.
- Report on patient progress and inform the physician when maximum benefits appear to have been reached.
- Perform proper documentation in medical records, including evaluation, progress notes, and discharge summary for each patient visit.
- Communicate patient treatment protocol to supportive personnel daily.
- Supervise activities of personnel such as physical therapist assistants and aides who assist in rendering physical therapy services as designated by the plan of care.
- Participate in interviewing and hiring as appropriate and supervise departmental employees.
- Counsel employees in matters concerning patient and staff relationships, disciplinary actions, and job performance.
- Participate in annual performance appraisals and recommend promotions, transfers, and terminations based on appraisals.
- Participate in purchasing decisions and maintain equipment necessary to provide maximum care and treatment for patients.
- Review pertinent literature and attend seminars/conferences to further the development of Physical Therapy practices.
Please note that this role may require visits to various locations and includes both inpatient and outpatient care.
