**Job Title:** Outpatient Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00)
**Guaranteed Hours:** Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without paying for the canceled hours.
**Experience:** Minimum 1-year experience required. First-timers not accepted.
**License:** Active Illinois State PTA license required.
**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
**Must-Have:**
- Experience in Neurology and Orthopedics
- Outpatient Clinic work setting experience
- WebPT EHR experience preferred
**Job Description:**
- Perform assessments and provide adaptive devices
- Conduct AROM/AAROM/PROM, assistive device training, and body mechanics education
- Identify environmental barriers during assessments
- Perform pain assessment and sensory response evaluation
- Ensure skin integrity and conduct strength testing and vital signs monitoring
- Manage documentation including discharge, evaluation, long-term goals, plan of care, reassessments, RUG levels, and short-term goals
- Expertise in orthopedic cases such as ankle sprains, degenerative conditions, extremity mobilization, gait training, myofascial release, post-operative rehabilitation, spinal conditions, and joint replacements
- Proficient in post-stroke rehabilitation for neurological cases
- Create home exercise programs and provide lifting and transfer education
- Educate patients and families, schedule appointments, and handle telephone calls
- Recognize and report signs of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse
- Billing experience with commercial, Medicaid, Medicare A, Medicare B, private pay, and worker's compensation
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Specific competencies required for Middle and Older Adult patient populations
**Note:** Candidates will not float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals. A blocked schedule from Monday to Friday is offered. Flu vaccine required, with medical/religious exemptions only.
