Tact Staff is seeking a travel Respiratory Therapist for a travel job in Jackson, Mississippi. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Respiratory Therapist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours Employment Type: Travel 50 mile radius rule for travelers Local Candidates accepted - LOCAL RATE must be requested FLU VACCINE IS REQUIRED at UMMC - only medical exemption is allowed and requires documented evidence from a health care provider of a past severe reaction to the vaccine FINGERPRINT REQUIREMENT - Remote process must allow 10 days, In Person can be done at Jackson or Grenada campus the week prior to start # treatments per day On average they do 10-12 treatments/assessments q4 hours, 3 times a day. Certs (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP?) RRT or is CRT acceptable? BLS, PALS, CRT or RRT Types of patients (adults, peds, and neonates?) Pediatric only position. Typically from birth - 18 years. Occasionally up to 20years if they are still followed by pediatrics. What areas do they cover (Inpatient, Outpatient, ER, Rehab, Sleep Lab, etc.) Inpatient Pediatrics Only Experience or 'Must have' skills Must have 1 year of true pediatric experience. Must have level IV NICU and level I PICU experience. Previous children's hospital experience is a major bonus. Previously travel experience is a bonus. Job Duties (ie: Do RTs draw ABGs, perform EKGs, etc.) Treatments, ABG's, EKG's, percussion, cystic fibrosis, interstitial pulmonary diseases, open chest, ECMO, Congenital hearts, bedside procedures, few bronch's but pulmonary has their own RT for certain procedures. Are RTs Required to be able to Intubate Independently or only to assist? Assist only, Residents typically intubate. RT Equipment (Brand for Vents, Cpap, Bipap, High Flow) Puritan Bennett 980, Draeger 500, high frequency oscillatory, Vapotherm, V60, Hamilton and trilogy home ventilator. Is there a Respiratory Manager/Supervisor/Lead Therapist on each shift? M-F manager, 2 educational managers M-F and Supervisor/lead 24/7 Hospitalist or Intensivist in house Pediatric Residents, Hospitalist and Intensivist 24/7. "Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) *Would they ever be the only RT in-house?*" 12's from 6:45-7:15 - manager schedules - but tries to block as much as possible. Weekend Requirements Every other weekend Holiday Requirements Rotate in with perm staff Call or standby call requirement? No What is call response time N/A Floating Requirements Within Pediatric departments but no adult coverage. Scrub Color/Dress Code Any color as long as they are clean and professional Department Specific Orientation 3 - 4 days Additional Notes CNM ONLY: He really wants a RT with previous Pediatric experience not just a RT that has worked with peds in the ER or basic peds floor. They are high acuity patients. He said that's why they have had issues in the past with travelers. He would really like a candidate with previous Children's hospital experience.
