**Experience:** 1 year of acute care experience preferred
**License:** Alaska SLP License (pending license accepted)
**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS)
**Must-Have:**
- Acute Care Experience
- FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing)
- MBS-IMP (Modified Barium Swallow Impairment Profile)
**Job Description:**
- Provide speech language pathology services in an inpatient/acute care setting.
- Work collaboratively with a team of 5-6 SLPs on weekdays and 3-4 on weekends.
- Treat a diverse patient population, from ICU level to SNF/OP level, due to limited post-acute discharge options.
- Perform FEES and MBS with proficiency.
- Participate in coverage for ICU patients based on clinical readiness.
- Engage in transfer training and video fluoroscopy.
- Manage cases involving multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, and adult care.
- Conduct therapeutic interventions for conditions such as coma stimulation, anoxia, aphasia, apraxia, and dementia/Alzheimer's.
- Handle patient communication effectively via telephone calls.
- Complete mandatory orientation (40 hours) and annual training modules (non-billable) prior to start.
- Adhere to facility guidelines and protocols for weekends and holiday rotations.
- Wear appropriate scrubs or business casual attire as per hospital policy.
- Utilize Epic charting system for documentation.
- Comply with facility policies regarding mandatory vaccines and certifications.
- Maintain at least 50 miles distance from facility if non-local candidate.
- Work includes some/minimal weekends and requires flexibility in scheduling per facility's needs.
