**Job Description:**
- Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition, deficits, and goals
- Assess and interpret patient evaluations and test results
- Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders
- Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients
- Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders
- Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events
- Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
- Document patient care history timely and accurately with great detail
- Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals
- Comply with all rules, regulations, and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy
- Assume other responsibilities as assigned
- Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff, and the public
- Detail-oriented with proven ability to multitask
- Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
- Strong understanding of speech-related conditions, causes, and treatments
- Clinical assessment skills regarding patient medical conditions
- Ability to alter plans of care as necessary for best patient outcomes
