About The Position **Job Title:** Speech and Language Pathologist **Job Specialty:** Staff Augmentation **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** Day 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM **Guaranteed Hours:** Not Specified **Experience:** Not Specified **License:** Required **Certifications:** Required **Must-Have:** Flexible hours within working days, 16 hours per week; no weekends or holidays. **Job Description:** - Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine individuals' levels of receptive/expressive speech and language skills, swallowing skills, and social/pragmatic skills. - Develop, modify, and implement individual and group therapy/treatment programs to improve communication and address swallowing deficiencies. - Recommend changes in food texture and liquid consistency during meals to prevent asphyxiation. - Consult with medical staff and suggest participation in relevant studies for treatment follow-up. - Design and deliver speech, language, and dysphagia management services, which may include hearing screenings and training for individuals using hearing aids. - Facilitate articulation training and teach the use of functional and social communication skills for various activities. - Design and deliver in-service training to staff on speech-language techniques for communication and swallowing treatments. - Act as a sign language interpreter when necessary and participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide professional insight and goal planning for treatment. - Attend meetings, workshops, and seminars to enhance professional skills and knowledge. - Counsel and inform guardians and family members about speech-language, hearing, and swallowing issues. - Compose and complete reports, lesson plans, and other program-related documents to implement, modify, and track progress of treatment programs. - Operate a personal computer using office systems software and specialized communication software to create and store records, reports, and lesson plans. - Maintain electronic augmentative communication devices and hearing aids.
