**Job Title:** Speech Therapist

**Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week

**Experience:** 3 years of experience providing therapy, with preferred acute care hospital experience in dysphasia and neurology

**License:** Licensed in the field of Speech-Language Pathology

**Certifications:**
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
- Basic Life Support certification
- Valid Driver's License

**Must-Have:**
- Current license in Alaska
- Current flu vaccination

**Job Description:**

- Provide Pediatric Speech-Language Pathology evaluations and treatments focusing on improving patients' functional abilities.
- Deliver services in compliance with hospital standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and other team members across multiple settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and home health.
- Develop and implement therapy treatment plans with specified goals.
- Direct and supervise the work of support staff, students, or interns.
- Conduct patient and family education programs and provide home exercise programs.
- Participate in care conferences and remain in contact with referring providers to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and progress according to policy.
- Perform home assessments for patient living arrangements and therapy plan implementation.
- Engage in occasional multi-day travel to remote locations for service delivery.
- Maintain clinic operations, assist with durable medical equipment acquisition, and ensure cleanliness of clinical space.
- Educate staff and provide therapy consultations and presentations.
- Participate in continuing education to remain current with therapy procedures and techniques.
- Adhere to Speech-Language Pathology standards set by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to cross-cultural issues.
- Handle administrative duties as needed.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.

This position may require occasional travel to remote areas by boat or plane, involving work in potentially harsh weather conditions and varied settings.
