About The Position **Job Title:** Sterile Processing Technologist **Job Specialty:** Sterile Processing Technologist **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 8-hour nights, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, including weekend rotation **Guaranteed Hours:** 40 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience in a large operating room required; ortho, ENT, and/or vascular experience a plus. Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment. **License:** Active scrub tech certification required **Certifications:** BLS certification required (must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross) **Must-Have:** Team player, flexible, accustomed to fast-paced environment **Job Description:** - Perform duties of decontamination, assembly, high-level disinfection, and/or sterilization of surgical instruments for the operating room and other hospital departments and clinics, in accordance with established policies and standard work. - Prioritize tasks as directed by supervisor or as needed to support patient care for the operating room and customer departments. - Document, monitor, and maintain accurate records demonstrating high-level disinfection and sterilization in accordance with current professional and regulatory agencies. - Float within the facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of the primary assigned location. - Perform other functions as required. - Orientation in the first week of the contract, not to exceed 40 total hours and includes EPIC training. - Scrubs are required. - On-call, weekends, and holidays may be required. - Travelers within the department are required to float to all areas in which they are trained, including emergency department and alternate holding areas to care for appropriate patients. - Traveling pairs are not guaranteed the same schedules or shifts.
