About The Position Job Title: Medical Staff Coordinator Job Specialty: Medical Staff Services Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8 Hour Days, Monday-Friday 8-5 Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: - Minimum of 1+ years in healthcare - 1+ years of Medical Staff experience - 1+ years of experience with Regulatory Guidelines - Experience in Joint Commission or NCQA accredited facility is preferred License: Not specified Certifications: - Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred Must-Have: - Experience with EchoCredentialing (credentialing software) is strongly preferred - High School Diploma/GED equivalent required; Associate degree in Healthcare is preferred Job Description: - Coordinate and supervise the primary operational functions of Medical Staff Services, including credentialing, privileging, proctorship, and orientation. - Serve as a resource for the VPMA, Medical Staff, and others, applying knowledge of regulatory/accreditation standards to maintain compliance. - Compile credentialing, privileging, and peer review actions for the Board of Directors' Quality Committee. - Act as a resource and assist Department Chairpersons and Credentials Committee members in reviewing applications. - Plan, organize, and direct confidential research required for initial appointees and recredentialing/reappointment (physicians, dentists, AHPs). - Develop and provide oversight of the orientation program for new appointees (physicians, dentists, AHPs). - Maintain and update proctorship review forms, files, and process to comply with regulations outlined by the Joint Commission and other agencies. - Assist the VPMA and Bylaws Committee in maintaining and revising pertinent documents. - Respond timely and appropriately to Joint Commission and other surveys, coordinate successful completion, and assist in developing any necessary action plans. - Evaluate document revisions for Joint Commission and other regulatory compliance. - Utilize the MIDAS database efficiently and effectively for tracking, reporting, and other processes. - Assist the VPMA, Medical Staff, and others with projects as requested. - Perform all other duties as assigned.
