Treaty And Regulatory Compliance Analyst

BAI is seeking a Treaty and Regulatory Compliance Analyst to support a U.S. government agency's cutting-edge science and technology research and development program. This position is currently teleworking. Our Analysts assist Federal Program Managers and researchers in complying with applicable treaty, regulatory and policy frameworks, and support our client in representing the agency's interests in interagency and international technology policy discussions.  As a key member of this team, BAI's Treaty Compliance Analyst is responsible for facilitating department-wide compliance with applicable arms control agreements, with a particular focus on the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) and the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC).
Responsibilities:
In this position, the successful applicant will:
•Review and assess all relevant agency-sponsored research and development activities for Treaty and Regulatory compliance and perception issues
•Coordinate logistics for senior-level meetings and briefings related to arms control compliance
•Advocate for the Department's equities within the U.S. interagency on a variety of biological science and nonproliferation policy issues
•Serve as treaty compliance subject-matter expert for other Compliance Assurance Team colleagues
•Manage multiple compliance portfolios and related information on all agency-sponsored biological, chemical, and animal care research activities


\n Requirements: Must possess and maintain a U.S. government security clearanceMaster's degree in Life Sciences, Biosafety, Biodefense, Nonproliferation or related subject areaSpecific knowledge of or experience with the BWC / CWCStrong familiarity with the life sciences (through coursework or past work experience)Extensive experience writing for both technical and non-technical audiencesStrong oral communication skillsAbility to work independentlyFlexibility Preferred Qualifications:Direct experience working with or supporting government clients, at the federal, state, and/or local levelsExperience working within the U.S. government interagencyExperience engaging with senior government or private sector leadershipFamiliarity with homeland security mission areas and the roles of science and technology in building capabilities to support these areas
