The Assistant Vice President position is within Morgan Stanley Bank, NA and Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association (together the, "US Banks") Vendor and Bank Risk (VBR) Team. The US Banks VBR Team includes Vendor Management, Regulatory Risk, Business Continuity Planning (BCP), and Operational Resilience.
Description:
This Assistant Vice President position is responsible for supporting the overall US Banks VBR Team in both a strategic and COO capacity in addition to work on the US Banks Vendor Management Team . We are seeking a high-performing team member to join our growing team to assist in a number of governance, business management and strategy related tasks. Responsibilities will include:
• Serve as program coordinator for various ad-hoc projects across all teams
• Oversee and manage team policies, procedures, and learning & development
• Manage the recruiting lifecycle and general HR matters
• Plan and execute on team building activities including volunteer events, lunch and learns, offsites, etc
• Manage miscellaneous team requests including entitlement requests, mail group requests, etc
• Project manage the quarterly governance committee including driving the finalization of materials, documenting meeting minutes, identifying quorum, etc
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities
• Provide coordination of the Affiliate Service Level Agreement (SLA) management program, including agreement drafting, periodic cost and service level reviews, meeting minute reviews, and Bank Committee presentations

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or other related field
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in risk management, documentation and governance in the financial services industry is a plus
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of various compliance and regulatory areas (e.g. FFIEC, NIST)
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and entrepreneurial spirit
• Strong project management, organization, communication, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage ambiguity and bring focus with recommendations on solving tactical and strategic challenges
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, both independently and as part of a team, and under strict deadlines
• Strong at identifying key control points within a process, and then provide assessment of the preventative and detective controls
• Strong interpersonal skills - freely develops networks, builds consensus, prioritizes effectively, and develops alliances across organizations
• Strong written and oral communication skills will be important for this role as effective communication of our role to IT, the business units, regulators, and our vendors is critical

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 USD and $130,000 USD per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
