JOB SUMMARY:
Provides Ultrasound examinations to patients under the general supervision of the Medical Director of Imaging Services. Working under general supervision, operates ultrasound equipment to produce images of the body, including Abdominal, Breast, OB/Gyn, vascular, small parts and needle guidance. Work will include related tasks that directly support the delivery of care.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS: EDUCATION Education required to achieve mandatory certification. Must have current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) RVT preferred EXPERIENCE 1-year full time experience in a clinical Ultrasound setting. PREREQUISITE SKILLS Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the performance of diagnostic Ultrasound studies for patients of all age groups from infants to geriatrics. By their actions, sonographers will demonstrate the ability to interact and communicate with all contacts in a professional, caring and effective manner. May occasionally be required to participate with Quality Improvement activities. LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION: Must hold current Certification as a Medical Sonographer with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) BLS - HCP American Heart Association DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL (not modifiable) Demonstrate competence to perform all Ultrasound procedures as outlined in the department policy and procedure manual. Communicate openly with the Radiologist to determine optimal Ultrasound imaging as it pertains to the unique needs of the patient. Assist the Radiologist with minimally invasive procedures. Accurately presents patient studies for interpretation. Information will include: Pertinent clinical history, physician's order, demographics and other data necessary to interpret the exam. Participate in a daily processor quality control program to ensure consistency in imaging results. Communicate equipment issues to management in a timely manner for service resolution. Consistent use of universal precautions in all patient contacts. Demonstrate through actions the ability to effectively use alternative methods to resolve problems as they arise. Regularly interface with the Radiology Information System to accurately represent procedural information. Effectively interacts with co-workers and physician in a positive and professional manner. Assist with clerical support functions as needed to most efficiently process patient studies. SECONDARY (modifiable) Other duties as assigned. Including, but not limited to Quality assurance studies, quality control functions, attendance at departmental meetings and other occasional tasks or assignments. The selected candidate's compensation will be determined based on the individual's skills, experience, internal/market equity factors, and qualifications. This posted minimum and maximum range represents the minimum and maximum of what we reasonably expect to compensate for the position. Furthermore, all compensation decisions are ultimately determined in accordance with our compensation philosophy. Compensation for positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by the agreements in the aforementioned document.
