The Position The Underwriter, Growth & Middle Market is responsible for the submission generation, underwriting and policy issuance of Directors and Officers Liability, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, Fidelity insurance, Kidnap & Ransom and Cyber Liability for entities that meet the GMM account definition within the Central Region.
The Growth & Middle Market department works with privately held companies with annual revenues of less than $1 Billion and publicly traded companies with annual revenues of less than $500 Million.
Job Responsibilities Underwrite and price new and renewal business, to include financial and exposure analysisAttendance at meetings with outside company managementBuilding and maintaining productive relationships with agents and brokersPolicy contract review and ratingClaims reviewBinding of new and renewal accounts according to our underwriting philosophy and strategyService brokers and customersCoaching and developing the more junior underwriters in the regionRequired Skills/Experience 1+ years of D&O insurance underwritingDesired Skills/Experience Ability to develop strong relationships with brokers in order to successfully manage our business which will require travel to producer location or insured location.Exemplary oral and written communication skillsAnalytical, with a keen ability to think through issuesSolid understanding of financial statementsStrong customer-service focusAble to organize and prioritize to meet multiple demands and commitmentsStrong work ethicTeam playerEffective negotiation skillsProficient in MS Word, Excel and OutlookEducation Bachelor's Degree, ideally in Economics, Business, Finance or AccountingFor individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided.

Position is incentive eligible.
$80,000 - $93,700/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.
The above pay range may be modified in the future.
