If so, we may have an opportunity for you as a member of the Underwriting Excellence team to assist with the implementation of the Hiscox USA Underwriting governance and control framework which will guide us as we move towards our 2025 goals and beyond.
Responsibilities Responsible for the day-to-day execution of assigned key underwriting controls Lead and/or participate in technical underwriting reviews Leverage data and analytics tools to explore large data sets for underwriting control weakness and opportunities to then assist with the design and implement preventative and detective controls including but not limited to Peer Reviews, Authority Management, and Overlining. Participate in the development of delegated authority controls including associated manuals and job aides. Contribute to the overall effectiveness and value of Underwriting Excellence by recommending and developing solutions including underwriting processes, products and controls which management has implemented to mitigate their risks. Assist the Head of UW Operations on other projects/initiatives as assigned. Here are some of the requirements we would ideally like to see: Minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience in P&C Insurance Experience or interest in regulatory and compliance for US P&C carriers is highly desired Demonstrated ability to drive underwriting quality success in an ambitious production environment is ideal B.A./B.S degree from an accredited College or University Proficiency in data analytics, demonstrating the ability to interpret and leverage data to support strategic business decisions with the capability to translate complex data sets into actionable insights. Experience in underwriting, risk assessment, or a similar analytical role within the insurance or financial services industry. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings and insights to stakeholders. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. We work with all underwriting groups and functional support areas across the organization to ensure compliance with Hiscox underwriting policies, applicable state and federal regulations, as well as other governmental agencies.
We are continuously looking for more efficient and sustainable ways to improve the underwriter experience while mitigating underwriting risk to the organization.
