The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
DescriptionThe Cyber Underwriting Manager leads a team of Underwriters in meeting and exceeding their retention, rate, and new business goals. The Manager holds a full suite of management responsibilities for the team: attraction, development, pay, performance management, and communication of underwriting strategy. Under direction from manager, focuses on the oversight of Underwriting execution, including administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, and analyzing the quality of policies underwritten by the team.
Responsibilities
Contributes proactively to initiatives in areas outside immediate team unit.
Maintains a visible external profile and strong relationships with external brokers and agents, leveraging these relationships to help the team achieve their goals and expand their own networks.
Articulates and represents Liberty`s value proposition across the business and market.
Focuses on building people management skills.
May cover for manager where required.
May deliver many of the responsibilities of an Underwriter at this level.
QualificationsDegree in Business or equivalent typically required
7 years progressive underwriting experience expected
RPLU, CPLP or professional insurance designation preferred
Proven analytical ability to evaluate underwriting risks within scope of responsibility
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analyses and information
Has capability to mentor and share information with less experienced employees for underwriting and training purposes
Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external partners required
