Summary Statement The Tax Operations Supervisor for the Accounts Management unit within ECO is responsible for the management of a team of 10-15 employees.
The Accounts Management Unit manages several critical business functions; customer contact via phone and CRM, and the accounting of employer tax assessments, benefits paid to claimants, and the UI trust fund.
The selected candidate will assist the incumbent supervisor with management of the unit's resources with a primary focus on customer service and escalated employer issues.
The goal is to find a leader than can lead the unit to improve the timeliness and accuracy of its business processes resulting in an increase in customer satisfaction and key deliverables.

Evaluates operations and performance of professional staff involved in the UI Tax Program or similar tax programs in areas such as status and charge determinations, assessment activities, recording and reporting payment transactions, delinquent account status, repayment agreements, compromise of claims, identifying and/or initiating judgement activities to ensures compliance with applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
Supervises two or more merit full time positions.
The elements of supervision include performing the following on a regular and continuing basis: planning, assigning, reviewing, evaluating, coaching, training, disciplining, and recommending hire, termination, and promotion.
Ensures compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
Makes recommendations such as new or revised UI processes and procedures that facilitate effectiveness and compliance.
Participates in the development or modification of UI program systems.
Provides technical UI assistance to Deputy Attorney General in litigation matters.
Prepares statistical, financial and/or narrative reports.
Uses automated information systems and computer software to research, review, evaluate, and report on financial data; and may perform quality reviews of data in systems.
Communicates and interacts effectively with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities, ages, and races.
Performs other related duties as required.
Job Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS for Unemployment Insurance Tax Operations Supervisor Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: One year of experience in auditing, examining, preparing, analyzing or reconciling financial accounts and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
One year of experience in preparing financial summaries and reports that clearly and accurately document findings, supporting facts and recommendations.
Six months experience in analyzing tax discrepancies or related problems, developing alternatives, recommending and advising on solutions.
Coursework, training and/or work experience in staff supervision which may include performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others.
