The Universal Banker II is responsible for meeting with customers and non-customers to open all types of savings, checking and certificate of deposit accounts, based on discovery of customer needs, and to cross-sell appropriate Bank products and services of all types. Excellence in product knowledge and sales and service skills is essential. Must proactively discover needs and cross-sell the products and services that will appropriately meet those financial needs. Key Responsibilities: Opens, closes, and renews all types of savings, certificate of deposit and checks products quickly and accurately. Provides exceptional service in handling clients in person or on the telephone. Maintains a cash drawer, balances, and audits the cash drawer according to policy and schedule. Processes Reject, Overdraft (OD), Non-Post, Stop and HOLD items. Review & perform callback on various reports and items. Communicates with customers and mails out notices for NSF, OD, and Return Items. Receive checks and cash for deposit, examine checks for endorsement and negotiability. Cash checks and pays money from accounts upon verification of signatures and customer balances. Requirements/Qualifications: Minimum one year of experience as an operation specialist in a bank operation required. Retail sales and service experience, including cash handling, a plus. Working knowledge of computers, related business programs and online banking systems. Good written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone. Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; basic computer skills, including the use of word processing, spreadsheet software applications, and e-mail. Good analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
