Position Summary:
The Universal Banker will assist bank customers using their detailed knowledge on all aspects of retail banking.
Excellent customer service skills are required when opening new accounts.
Knowledge and understanding of digital banking solutions are required.
Product knowledge and cross-selling are also required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote the bank culture, mission and vision statements by maintaining positive working relationships with bank staff, customers, and guests
Greet and assist customers in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner in person, by phone or by email
Open and close all types of consumer and business accounts
Build customer relationships by proactively advising and educating customers on bank products and services appropriate for their situation; work to cross-sell appropriate products and services
Provide support as needed to the front-line; maintain cash drawer and established limits, and balance daily
Scan and verify your daily work; signature cards, closed accounts, and CDs
Examine credit and Chex Systems reports
Act as IRA and HSA account specialist resource for all Star Bank offices
Process monthly HSA contributions for local business customers
Navigate various financial/banking software to accurately process transactions.
Assist customers with digital banking and debit card questions
Attend and participate in ongoing trainings to stay up to date with banking trends
Clerical tasks including word processing, filing, answering telephones and operating office equipment
Processing and maintenance of records, data collection, reports, and special projects
Conduct monthly audit collections and submit to compliance or internal audit department
Partner closely with Branch Manager/Managing Officer in keeping them up to date with customer service and branch matters
Partner closely with Branch Manager/Managing Officer in the reviewing, processing, and tracking of community donation requests and community events
Participate in the local chamber of commerce meetings and community activities as time allows
Maintain Bank Costco membership, monitor office supply needs for the Wright County offices and place orders as needed
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Windows and the web
Ability to operate a 10-key calculator, and other office equipment
Must have strong inter-personal skills and a professional personal brand
Perform duties in compliance with policy, procedure and process

Assist customers with navigating the website and mobile app

Punctual and regular attendance is an essential requirement of this position; employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working

Education:
High School Diploma or GED; Associates of Arts or Science (2 year degree)
Experience:
Two-years banking experience with a retail operations background
