The University of Alaska Southeast seeks a vibrant, visionary, and collaborative academic leader who will serve as the next Provost of the institution.
The University of Alaska Southeast is located in the traditional territory of the Lingít, Haida, and Tsimshian peoples, a majestic array of islands, channels, fjords, coastal mountains, icefields, and glaciers.
On our three campuses, which are located in Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka, students have opportunities for field study, research, creative production, and internships and other forms of experiential learning in the Tongass National Forest, in coastal marine environments, with local businesses, and with city and borough, state, and federal government entities.
Juneau, an epicenter for Northwest Coast Arts, and our state capital, provides ample opportunities for student internships within Alaska's legislature, study and research within temperate rainforests and coastal habitats, and artistic and craft production in weaving, ceramics, and carving.
Ketchikan, home to our Maritime Training Center, works closely with the United States Coast Guard to provide training and credentialing for Alaska's maritime workforce.
Sitka, hosting programs in Applied Fisheries, Health Information Management and Law Enforcement Training, prepares Alaskans for public service in these vital fields.
All three campuses have a strong commitment to the preservation of the culture, arts, and languages of the Indigenous peoples of Southeast Alaska as well as to serving the workforce needs of the state.
