Urban Design Project Manager (8+ Years' Experience) Smith Gee Studio is seeking a passionate Project Manager to join our top-notch team of smart, creative and fun people. We are looking for a collaborative partner to join us in driving innovation and creativity that makes a meaningful impact on the world. The candidate would assist us with both public and private sector projects including large scale master planning, urban design, design guidelines, entitlements, form-based codes and the like. The ideal candidate will have strong project management, design expertise, and technical skills ideally with 8+ years of experience in urban design.

Position Responsibilities: Manage multiple complex scope from conception to completionLead the design and drawing process for both large- and small-scale projectsCollaborate with diverse groups of people on various teamsPrepare designs and deliverables within project budgets and goalsLearn and apply local codes and standards, including those of Metro NashvilleDevelop project schedules, work plans, budgets, and proposalsPrepare entitlement applications and related graphicsCoordinate with all Team Members – colleagues, sub-consultants, vendors, stakeholdersCoordinate, build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, consultants, vendors, and staffMonitor and track project progress, invoicing, and budget to meet goals and deadlinesQualifications, Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture, Community/Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or a closely related field; advanced degree a plusProven experience in urban planning and development issuesAbility to fully communicate all aspects of design and mentor team membersProficiency in design and rendering tools (e.g., hand drawing, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, AutoCAD)Self-motivated with solid organizational skillsAbility to lead facilitating community outreach processes and other presentationsCapability to manage team members and coordinate all aspects of project workflowAdvanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated designExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and analytical skillsAbout Smith Gee Studio At Smith Gee Studio, collaboration, community, and exceptional design are at the core of everything we do.
