Our U.S. bank subsidiaries, Morgan Stanley Bank N.A. ("MSBNA"), Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association ("MSPBNA"), collectively, ("the U.S. Banks") accept deposits, provide loans to a variety of customers, including large corporate and institutional clients as well as high to ultra-high net worth individuals, and invest in securities. Lending activity recorded in the U.S. Bank Subsidiaries from the Institutional Securities business segment primarily includes Secured lending facilities and Commercial real estate loans. Lending activity recorded in the U.S. Bank Subsidiaries from the Wealth Management business segment primarily includes Securities-based lending, which allows clients to borrow money against the value of qualifying securities, and Residential real estate loans.

Position Description:
This role is an Associate position is within the US Banks First Line Operational Risk team.  This team is one of the teams that comprise the Business Risk Management organization.  The Associate will also work closely with Operational Risk Managers in executing the risk and control functions for the First Line of Defense for the U.S. Banks.

Job Responsibilities:
Support the execution ofthe Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program for the US Banks as part of the US Banks First Line Operational Risk team.
Support enhancement plans aimed at evolving the RCSA program and developing new strategies to evolve the program as an effective risk management tool.
Support the design, implementation, and sustainability of key RCSA activities such as framework oversight, collaboration with risk and control stakeholders, documenting process flows, and risk and control identification practices.
Perform centralized risk oversight responsibilities and collaborate with Business Units to ensure adherence with policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain RCSA metrics, perform data analytics, and periodic committee reporting.
Collaborate with stakeholders across all three lines of defense – the Business Units, Second Line Operational Risk, and Internal Audit – to confirm comprehensive and consistent practices are followed to allow for a successful oversight program that proactively manages and assesses operational risk within the RCSA.

Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant experience in financial services industry, preferably in risk management, compliance, finance, operations or audit.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or other related field
Experience with risk and data analytic, or framework governance, is a plus.

Required Skills:                              
Ability to analyze a function, process, or transaction, and identify the key risks and controls within it.
Attention to detail, strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
Risk management experience, including control design, risk and control self-assessments, process mapping
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and the ability to influence and interact with senior members of the Bank.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite of products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong sense of ownership and accountability; is willing to be fungible and has an entrepreneurial spirit
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team, and under tight deadlines.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $70,000 USD and $100,000per year at the commencement of employment.  However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
