ABOUT THE ROLE Second Front Systems (2F) is seeking a motivated UX Researcher to join our team. We are a fast-growing entrepreneurial team working at the convergence of technology and national security.  As a UX Researcher specializing in cybersecurity, you will leverage your understanding of cybersecurity principles and Day 2 operations to gather insights that inform the design of our tools. Your work will focus on understanding user needs related to risk assessment, mitigation, and the creation of dashboards that provide actionable insights into the security posture of software applications. Note: This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.
\n What You'll Do:Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand user needs and behaviors related to cybersecurity tools and application security.Plan and execute user interviews, surveys, and usability tests to gather insights that inform product design for Day 2 operations.Analyze research findings to develop clear, actionable recommendations that enhance the usability and design of security dashboards and integrated workflows.Collaborate with product managers and designers to ensure user insights are integrated into the development of cybersecurity solutions.Create user personas and journey maps to visualize user interactions and identify opportunities for improvement in security posture management.Stay informed about industry trends, cybersecurity best practices, and user experience methodologies to continuously refine research approaches.Present research findings and insights to stakeholders, advocating for user-centered design in cybersecurity products. Skills You'll Bring to Our Team:At least three years of experience in UX research or related fields, with a focus on cybersecurity and application security tools.Proven experience as a UX Researcher, particularly in the cybersecurity domain and Day 2 operations.Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk assessment, and application security posture.Expertise in designing data-driven dashboards and understanding integrated workflows for security operations.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and their applicationExceptional communication skills, capable of clearly presenting findings to diverse audiences.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including security, compliance, and design. Preferred Qualifications:Experience working on projects that assess and enhance the security posture of software applications.Strong portfolio showcasing your research process and outcomes, particularly in cybersecurity-related projects.Experience conducting user interviews, surveys, usability tests, and other research methodsHave a strong interest in matters of national security
\n$145,000 - $165,000 a year
