Job Description
The Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) Resource Coordinator is a crucial role in orchestrating strategic support and development initiatives aimed at enhancing VCE Advancement and Development efforts as a member of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Advancement team. This position coordinates fund acquisition activities for the organization and supports effective partnership with the Virginia Tech Foundation (VTF).

As the primary liaison for the VCE faculty and staff between VTF and CALS Advancement, the Resource Coordinator ensures seamless management of resources, application of policies and procedures, and advancement activities. This role demands a proactive approach to developing, leading, and implementing comprehensive training programs on topics including fundraising strategies, donor stewardship, volunteer engagement, and adherence to Virginia Tech Foundation policies.

The coordinator is tasked with crafting and maintaining a robust development and engagement toolkit and learning modules designed to elevate fundraising and funds management skills. The Resource Coordinator oversees charitable grant applications for VCE and is responsible for relevant policy compliance and associated grant reporting. In collaboration with faculty and staff, the coordinator actively pursues grant opportunities that align with VCE priorities.

This role serves as a strategic lead for annual giving programs and stewardship activities, and requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and a keen understanding of the nuances of resource coordination across a diverse organization.
Required Qualifications
- A Master's degree in fields related to development, business, communications, or agriculture and life sciences/cooperative extension or
- A Bachelor's degree, with experience in the fields detailed above, further enhancing the depth of expertise and knowledge of resource acquisition.
- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability in fostering relationships across diverse business units and departments.
- Experience in the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs for adult learners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in grant writing and a history of working within advancement, development offices, or fundraising sectors.
- Familiarity with Cooperative Extension or the U.S. land-grant university system.

$50,000 - $60,000; commensurate with experience.
