OverviewThe Office of Legislative Counsel is seeking two additional attorneys to join our collaborative team. Both attorneys will handle a variety of subjects. One portfolio will include matters related to agriculture, forestry, and fish & wildlife, among others. The other portfolio will include issues related to housing, commerce, consumer protection, pensions, and retirement, among others.
Attorneys will provide legal research and analysis, legislative drafting, policy analysis, and other legal services to the Vermont General Assembly, and will testify frequently before legislative committees. The Office of Legislative Counsel is a nonpartisan office that provides legal support to all members of the General Assembly, regardless of party or political affiliation. Legislative Counsel is a small team with an important mission, and the work is challenging, dynamic, and exciting. You will be part of a highly professional and collegial team dedicated to serving the Vermont General Assembly.
Salary will be based on qualifications and experience. The comprehensive State benefits package includes health insurance and retirement plans.
CompensationMinimum starting salary of $83,840, with potential for an initial offer adjustment based on applicable qualifications and experience.
