We are looking for experienced Technician Assistants to join our growing team of veterinary professionals.

Work Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday from 7:00am to 7:00pm (Weekends as needed)

Qualifications:
Experience equivalent to job duties and responsibilities.
Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to critically think and maintain a positive attitude in a fast paced environment.
Ability to multi-task.
The desire to continually advance your knowledge and skills is essential in order to achieve the optimal standard of patient care provided at AVECCC.
Job duties include, but are not limited to: Assist technicians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery Quality husbandry care of patients, changing out bedding in kennels, vitals, walking, etc.
Perform and/or participate in all other diagnostics such as radiology, ultrasound, ECG, BP and glucose monitoring Assist technicians by taking histories, vital signs and weights as well as placing patient in kennel/room with water, placing ID collar and cage card, and restraining patients Facilitate all walk-in euthanasia cases and rounds to Outpatient person Body care post euthanasia Assist technicians with treatments (x-rays, blood draws, etc.)
Assist in preparing for all emergencies; IVC and blood draw supplies out and ready to go, tape pulled, tubes out, etc.
Assist with walking patients out to their car after discharge Run labs if needed Surgery Set up the surgical area Keep surgical materials stocked Prepare gown and surgical packs Prepare instruments; knowledge of surgical instruments required for specific surgeries Monitor patients through anesthesia recovery under the direction of the technician Ensure hospital patients go home well-groomed and in an appropriate medical state Housekeeping Duties: Maintain cleanliness of surgery suite, treatment area and exams rooms for all surfaces, including lights, tables, cabinets, walls and floor.
Clean cages and do laundry.
Maintain equipment cleanliness and longevity by vacuuming pet hair from keyboards, wheels and equipment Organize radiology gowns, gloves and badges, making sure they are neatly hung or stored Administrative Duties: Restock shelves and drawers in exam rooms and treatment area Follow OSHA requirement Follow practice's health and safety protocols Be proficient in using our veterinary practice-management software (EzyVet, SmartFlow, Timeless) Assist Client Administrators as necessary Attend staff and individual meetings as scheduled Client Services: Greet incoming clients/patients; facilitate medical record paperwork/computer entry Physical: Able to properly restrain dog and cat patients for veterinary care and procedures Able to stand, sit, bend, restrain, squat for extended periods of time Able to function within a busy, stressful work environment in a mature, professional manner Able to lift 60 lbs in a safe manner Able to type, write and verbally converse Able to work the posted schedule Compensation: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour depending on experience
