About the job: You will assist the hospital in delivering excellent care to all our patients within the hospital and perform duties pursuant to WRAH Technician Protocols. You will embody our culture by treating every client with courtesy and respect, with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets.
How you'll make a difference: Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activityProvide support to all veterinarians and assist other departments as requestedProvide comfort, diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients including critical care patientsObtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, urinary catheter sampling and free catch urinePerform various laboratory procedures including but not limited to blood typing, cross matching, and slide agglutination testingAccurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiograph while following appropriate radiation safety protocolsProperly use and maintain medical equipmentProvide professional client communicationWhat you will bring:Experience working as a Registered Veterinary Technician with 2+ years in an ER setting preferredA strong desire to learn and apply knowledge/skills learned to daily work lifeAbility to communicate effectively both written and oralAbility to demonstrate technical procedures as outlined in the technician protocolsDemonstrate reliability and follow-through with all work-related tasks / projectsSchedule: 6:00am - 4:00pm day shifts
