We offer a wide range of specialties, including anesthesiology, cardiology, critical care, dentistry, emergency, integrative medicine, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, physical rehabilitation, radioactive iodine therapy, surgery, and urgent care.   Join us in shaping the future of veterinary excellence and professional growth at our Redwood City location!   About the role: As a Veterinary Surgery Technician , your duties will include:   Preoperative Patient Care: Prepare surgical suites and equipment. Sterilize surgical instruments. Assist with patient preparation. Anesthesia Management: Administer and monitor anesthesia. Monitor vital signs during surgery. Adjust anesthesia levels as needed. Surgical Assistance: Provide surgical instruments and supplies. Maintain aseptic technique. Handle tissues for analysis. Postoperative Care: Monitor patients in recovery. Provide postoperative care and medication. Maintain detailed records. Radiography and Imaging: Take and process X-rays. Ensure proper patient positioning. Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and sterilize instruments. Perform equipment maintenance. Client Communication: Explain postoperative care to pet owners. Provide updates on surgical procedures. Emergency Response: Assist in emergency surgeries. Administer emergency medications. Compensation ranges: Non-Licensed Technicians : $25- $38/hr Licensed Technicians   $30 -$40/hr S hift differentials offered   Who you are:   We are currently evaluating applications from dedicated, reliable, diligent, and team-centric candidates who are prepared to integrate into our highly-trained veterinary healthcare professionals. Basic Required Qualifications: High school diploma Active CA-RVT license is highly desired for this position, but not required Clinical experience in veterinary surgery required  Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate Consistent and reliable ability to monitor anesthesia, perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license.   Work Schedule: Full-Time 4/10 Schedule   Benefits: Full-time benefits include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurances, flex-spending accounts, 401(k), Employee Assistance Program, 3 weeks accrued paid time off, and uniforms Highly competitive and comparable wages based on experience and skill set.
