Generalist/Pipeline Technical Director

Job Summary They seek an experienced Film/VFX Pipeline TD to develop and maintain our production pipeline. The role involves optimizing workflows, providing technical direction, troubleshooting, and collaborating with various departments. Ideal candidates will have strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for VFX and animation.
Primary Responsibilities Pipeline Development and Maintenance
- Develop and maintain scalable production pipelines.
- Implement tools and scripts to optimize workflows.
- Troubleshoot and debug pipeline issues, providing technical support.
- Connect different production systems and processes. Technical Direction
- Collaborate with department leads to meet project requirements.
- Create and maintain documentation for tools and processes.
- Integrate various software and technologies. Asset Management
- Oversee asset management, ensuring version control and storage.
- Implement asset tracking systems. Training and Support
- Train and support artists on pipeline tools and processes.
- Stay updated with industry trends and technologies. Collaboration
- Ensure efficient workflows and communication with production teams.
- Coordinate with IT and technical departments for resource management.
- Participate in production meetings, providing technical insights. Core Competencies and Skills Technical Skills
- 2D & 3D workflows
- Python, MEL, C++
- VFX software: Maya, Houdini, Nuke
- Transcoding workflows: FFMPEG
- Shotgrid, Perforce, asset management systems
- Render systems: Deadline (cloud and on-premise)
- High resolution content production (23k)
Experience
- 3-5 years in VFX or animation
- Developing and maintaining production pipelines
- Collaborative, fast-paced environments
