For more details, please visit: www.conmed.com THE OPPORTUNITY: CONMED's General Surgery product line consists of capital and disposable devices for minimally invasive procedures. Our products are used by surgeons and physicians for robotic and laparoscopic procedures within several different specialties including general surgery, urology, gynecology, bariatrics as well as colorectal. Our portfolio includes AirSeal, which is the world's first "3 in 1" insufflation management system that provides stable pneumoperitoneum, constant smoke evacuation and valve-free access during surgery. CONMED's strategy includes expanding the U.S. General Surgery business through both organic and inorganic means to achieve above market rate growth. CONMED is seeking a Vice President and General Manager, U.S. General Surgery to develop and execute business strategies to attract and engage top talent, serve our customers, deliver new products, and capitalize on business acquisition and partnership opportunities. ABOUT THE POSITION: In this role, you will report directly to the Chief Operation Officer and will lead the U.S. General Surgery business as the executive in charge. The U.S. General Surgery's business unit comprises a team of over 300 engaged employees. You will be expected to collaborate closely with business direct reports (head of sales, marketing, both upstream and downstream, R&D, finance, and HR) and functional partners (Operations, RAQA, Compliance) in developing and executing an appropriate strategy for the business. In addition, you will work closely with the International Leadership team to support and partner in our International General Surgery business. You will bring a strong passion for strengthening and growing the business in the U.S. and for contributing to CONMED's growth. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate both a strategic and hands-on approach and be able to work closely with the team in the field to better service the customers' needs.
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assume full P&L responsibility for the U.S. General Surgery market
Partner with global product team to determine and develop products that suit market needs
Assess and adapt the current organization structure, talent, and competencies to support the growth of the business
Establish CONMED's General Surgery vision in the U.S. market, and drive the business vision to enable aggressive and profitable growth
Formulate the business strategies and plans in strengthening the market presence and building the business aggressively
Communicate the U.S. vision and business strategies to all internal teams and sales as well as ensuring all activities are aligned with the General Surgery vision and strategies
Build and develop a talented, high performing and engaged team and establish a clear succession plan for all the key roles.
Develop a winning culture that reflects high performance, diversity, trust and teamwork.
Continuously strengthen the product portfolio via bringing in the right products from global product teams that suit the market demand and customers' specific needs
Strengthen the brand presence and improve the brand awareness via effective marketing communication programs and endorsement by the industry professionals or key opinion leaders
Aggressively build the business while maintaining profitable growth
Establish clear measurable KPIs for all the top team members
Point market for GLOBAL General Surgery. The U.S. marketing team leads our Global marketing orchestration and initiatives.
A seat at the CONMED executive table with the responsibilities of ensuring the general surgery business is connected to the overall CONMED strategy, business and culture.

REQUIREMENTS: An undergraduate degree is required. MBA or other professional qualification is preferred.
15+ years commercial facing experience in the medical device industry required.
10+ years senior management experience (functional leadership of a department such as R&D, marketing, Sales, or General Management) required.
Required to be based in the Denver area. CONMED will offer a relocation package for the right candidate.
Ability to meet with customers at hospitals and to be a member of a credentialing agency.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BRING: Strong understanding of the U.S. market, including regulatory, legal policies and environment to mitigate risk to the business.
Demonstrated proven track record in sales, marketing and general management across organizations which were growing and innovating.
Demonstrated success in developing and sustaining a culture of high performance, engagement and talent development, diversity and inclusion.
Excellent commercial and business acumen to navigate, and negotiate with, key stakeholders, both internal and external, in a challenging and competitive environment.
Strong track record of growth and achieving results in line with business objectives, including profit targets and building top and bottom line growth.
Demonstrated ability to create new and innovative approaches in achieving the business targets.
Knowledgeable in the medical industry with a good network with the customers, surgeon network and distributors.
Total Travel of 50% - 75%
Sponsorship: This position is not eligible for employer-visa sponsorship. Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range for this position is 300,000 to 380,000. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
