Bring your strong portfolio management skills and enable growth across a leading global business. We are hiring for Vice President Global Portfolio, a visible and strategic leadership position at dsm-firmenich.  You are accountable for leading end to end portfolio management best practices in support of the Taste strategic growth plan.  As a change agent, you will ensure the optimal leverage of an increasingly complex portfolio of ingredients and solutions and drive core initiatives aimed at ensuring the competitiveness of our offer.  Collaboration is key in this role, as you will be partnering with Regional Commercial Teams, Core Tonality Leaders, Supply Chain, Procurement and other enabling functions. This role resides in the Naturals and Global Portfolio organization and reports to the SVP Global Portfolio and Naturals.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage a team of experienced senior leaders with accountability for palette and formulas, reformulation and collections, pricing and the savory portfolio.  Coordinate integration of ingredients under the Taste, Texture and Health umbrella.

Manage the full portfolio lifecycle, via a drumbeat of ongoing assessment. Identify and execute on opportunities to leverage successes and strengths and take actions to improve unprofitable complexity. Ensure a consistent approach to portfolio management principles across the full portfolio, including those tonalities with dedicated teams. Provide oversight for tonalities without dedicated teams.

Monitor key financial metrics to understand performance and drivers of profitability to ensure appropriate actions taken to achieve growth targets and maintain competitiveness.  Identify potential risks and challenges and develop mitigation strategies. Working with the NPLT and with the input of regional commercial teams, identify portfolio gaps for must-win battles.
Ensure robust governance across functions to embed roles & responsibilities involving changes to palette, formulas, and other global processes, enabling agile decision-making and execution.
Partner with key stakeholders and leaders to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives.
Actively coach talent to ensure a robust succession plan and to embed a high performing & collaborative culture.

This position is eligible for the dsm-firmenichHybrid Working model, spending 2 - 3 days per week in office and the balance of the work week in a home office.

You Bring:
Minimum 20 years of experience in the flavor, food ingredient, or allied industry required
Demonstrated success in product/portfolio management or related roles, managing value chains with high complexity along with strong strategic thinking, financial acumen, and analytical skills
Process orientation, with a track record of leading change, collaborating across disciplines.
High executive function, employing a systematic approach in leading multiple simultaneous initiatives and ability to influence and build productive relationships at all levels in a global organization
Proven ability to coach and develop leaders and shape high performing teams
Bachelor's degree required preferably in technical disciple. MBA is a plus.
