JOB DESCRIPTION With a global presence and impact, Getty is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking individual as its next Vice President, Institutional Advancement (VP). This leadership role is vital to advancing Getty's partnership and fundraising efforts on a global scale and building and managing strategic partnerships to support our mission worldwide.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Design and execute an annual fundraising strategy that includes, but is not limited to, individual giving, planned giving, and special events. Actively participate in executive leadership meetings and contribute to strategic discussions. Work with the CEO and other executives in defining business plans that support the organization's strategic priorities with a growth mindset, creative ideas, and clear vision for how the Advancement team will support and be integrated into the plan. Analyze the effectiveness of fundraising efforts to meet organizational goals and provide timely reports to the CEO, CFO, and Board of Trustees that track progress toward annual fundraising goals. Rationalize donor engagement strategies across Getty, in partnership with Getty Programs, to cultivate and secure new gifts and increase support from existing donors. Work in partnership with Getty's four Program Directors, leading Getty-wide fundraising and institutional advancement efforts. Oversee high-impact events that engage donors and executives globally, fostering relationships and support for our mission. Devise strategy for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major gift prospects and donors, transforming Getty from a "friends of Getty" donor relations to major gift alliances. Work in partnership across Getty to ensure all "alumni" – e.g. scholars, Program Council members, etc. – are part of Getty's donor community and its relationship management efforts. Liaise with the Board of Trustees' Development committee. Represent Getty at major events and forums. Remain current with funding trends at the local and national level to help position Getty ahead of major funding changes. Oversee best practices in data management with a strong focus on development/fundraising systems and policies to be used across Getty. Support the use of clear and consistent brand and communications that articulate Getty's institutional advancement vision and development program design, impact measures, and differentiation in the sector. Provide input to Getty website, newsletters, annual impact reports, and social media messages as they relate to fundraising campaigns and goals. Determine the staffing needs of the department, recommend responsible use of resources, and direct staff to ensure the success of Getty's fundraising strategies. Create and maintain a best-in-class institutional advancement department and development team by building on the current foundation and creating strategies that increase fundraising. Provide operational oversight across the department, establishing goals and priorities, monitoring activities, evaluating progress, and adjusting as necessary. Collaborate with the CFO to oversee the department's budget planning and financial strategy. Enhance the team's effectiveness and productivity by providing coaching and mentorship, motivating team members with energy, humor, and passion, and ensuring clear expectations. QUALIFICATIONS Passionate commitment to the visual arts and the presentation, conservation, and interpretation of the world's artistic legacy. 10+ years of successful development/fundraising experience across a variety of fundraising channels, including six-figure investments. Broad experience that includes a deeper expertise in one or more of the following: major gifts, corporate giving, institutional giving/philanthropy, capital campaigns, annual fund, matching campaigns, special events membership or planned giving. Record of successful career growth with 5+ years of team leadership experience. Experience with museums, informal learning institutions or community-based organizations is a plus. Strong national and international network with the ability to develop and maintain strong, long-term donor relationships. Proven ability to cultivate existing donors and to initiate new prospects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent public speaking and presentation skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor, with ability to exercise the utmost discretion with confidential/sensitive information. Strong leadership skills with ability to inspire staff and donors. Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups of people. A balanced approach to leadership, with a comfort operating both strategically and tactically. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. COMPENSATION: Getty offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. For this position, the base salary range is $500,000 to $550,000. Internal equity considerations and the average salary of the peer range will be reviewed before making a final offer. Benefits and Perks Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance coverage, starting on date of hire. Getty pays 75%-95% of the premium, depending on the plan selected. 403(b) Employee Investment retirement plan – with up to 5% Getty Match. Getty contribution of 6%, on behalf of employee, to 401(a) retirement account; plus 10% on earnings above the social security wage base, up to IRS limits. Accrued paid Vacation, Sick, and Personal Days. 12 Paid Holidays, plus two "floating" holidays. This position will have bi-weekly Off-Fridays. On-Site Fitness Center at Getty Center.
