The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the strategic development and implementation of a comprehensive business plan tailored to the enterprise utility space.
This includes aligning the business development strategy with the company's overall objectives, driving growth, and expanding market penetration.
A key aspect of the role is the identification, establishment, and maintenance of strategic relationships with key customers, prospects, and industry stakeholders, particularly within the government utilities vertical.
The VP will also work closely with product management and sales teams to influence product direction, ensure the digital payments platform meets the evolving needs of the sector, and enable the sales force to effectively promote the solutions to government and utility clients.
Applicants for the VP of Business Development position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, with an MBA or advanced degree preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Utility industry, specifically in business development, is required, along with a proven track record of success in driving growth within complex, highly regulated industries.
The role demands a deep understanding of the government procurement process, utility operations, and digital payments technologies, as well as a strong network of industry contacts.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The position also requires a willingness to travel as needed.
