Essential Functions of Role:
This is a Senior Leadership position responsible for the overall management of all maintenance and engineering aspects of the organization's processing facilities. The position is required to meet all USDA, HACCP, GMP, and Company standards while exercising sound judgment and an ability to collaborate effectively across the organization and with vendors/contractors. The Vice President of Facilities, Maintenance and Engineering is also responsible for efficient and safe working habits of all departmental associates, overall compliance, and all regulatory standards of all applicable agencies.

Responsibilities Include:

Provide leadership and vision for Maintenance Operations including the establishment of processes and strategy.

Lead, develop and implement a culture of strategy, execution, and people leadership and development, optimizing mechanical uptime.

Ensure close adherence to regulatory and industry compliance and standards.

Develop clearly defined policies, procedures, and response levels and communicates them to operations within Michigan Turkey Producers.

Lead all aspects of maintenance planning process by optimizing scheduling.

Set goals, improve and maintain the mechanical uptime in both facilities. Establish expenditure budgets and monitor for each department to maintain set goals. Establish overtime standard and track, improve, justify, or recommend changes.

Assist, plan, develop and implement Maintenance and Refrigeration strategies required for meeting company objectives.

Assist with the selection, purchase and installation of new equipment, modification of existing equipment, and the removal and disposition of obsolete equipment.

Direct and monitor general and preventative maintenance programs developed to ensure timely and efficient repair and maintenance of machinery, equipment, facilities and support systems through reporting personnel responsible for implementation of established programs. Direct responsible subordinate personnel in establishment and adherence to long-range maintenance and planning goals.

Maintain accurate working knowledge of governmental/regulatory requirements as related to equipment including OSHA and USDA. Monitor and ensure company compliance with regulatory standards.

Administer personnel development programs within Maintenance. Conduct periodic performance reviews, train and prepare for orderly succession of positions. Facilitate the development and continuity of effective teamwork toward achievement of site goals. Develop climate conducive to trust, open communications, mutual goal setting, and recognition.

Respond to calls on a 24-7 basis to promptly resolve the urgent needs of the facilities.

Develop and maintain a preventative/predictive maintenance program for all plant equipment that keeps all equipment running safely, at a specified uptime level, and within departmental budget.

Develop and maintain a maintenance/refrigeration specific safety program that promotes associate involvement.

Maintain parts inventory sufficient to keep plant running at a specified mechanical uptime level within specified budget.

Develop and maintain a departmental operating budget.

Develop and maintain PSM/RPM program to O.S.H.A. standards.

Develop positive working relationships with suppliers to assure plant operation within specified budget.

Assist Engineering and Maintenance Manager with project planning and implementation.

Manage contracted projects from start to finish.

Participation in HAZMAT.

Qualifications:

Hands-on experienced Maintenance Manager.

Must have strong background in ammonia refrigeration and electrical maintenance.

Strong communication and management skills with the ability to influence and motivate a must.

Ability to work with all levels of the organization to build a team environment.

Previous maintenance management experience in the food manufacturing industry a plus.

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Associates Degree in Business Management, 5 years experience in Maintenance Management or equivalent experience and education.

Journeyman or Accredited Certification in Machine Repair or 5 years experience in Machine repair or equivalent experience and education.

Basic Computer Skills.

Physical Qualifications:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Must be able to physically perform the essential functions of the role as outlined.

Must be able to lift, tighten ("tork") equipment up to approximately 70 pounds.

Must be able to reach heights of 17' to repair & /or inspect equipment.

Must be able to physically perform equipment repairs in a wet, slippery/uneven environment which includes but is not limited to sloped flooring, pitched flooring, steps throughout work areas, and twist, bend, reach, and stand for 10-12 hours or the duration of the shift, in a wet cold environment.

Must be able to get underneath or mount equipment ranging from below grade (below floor level) and work in confined spaces of 2'x 2' or larger to perform repairs and inspections.

Must be able to safely & efficiently make machine repairs in a seriously demanding, challenging, fast-paced, high pressure and tense atmosphere.
