About this Role:
Our team is seeking a seasoned VP of Finance to lead our financial strategy, planning, analysis, and reporting efforts. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the VP of Finance will lead a high-performing team, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and strategic insight in all financial activities. The incumbent will oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis, while also managing HR,IT, legal contracts, and merger and acquisition activities. This role plays a critical part in driving sustained business growth in revenue and profit.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning:
Direct financial planning and management to optimize sustained business growth in revenue and profit.
Develop and manage the financial components of the annual plan, updating the forecast monthly with the latest sales and overhead plans.
Analyze and review activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives and identify opportunity areas.
Financial Reporting:
Ensure integrity and accuracy of accounting and reporting under GAAP.
Develop, analyze, prepare, interpret, and communicate financial and key operating information in compliance with GAAP reporting and accounting guidelines.
Prepare and oversee business unit operating budgets and profit and loss (P&L) statements.
Oversee the production of all monthly and annual reports, including financial packages and analysis for the Board of Directors.
Prepare lender reporting, including covenant calculations, and respond to lender requests.
Support year-end audit activities with external auditors.
Management:
Lead a multi-faceted team to drive value across financial, HR and IT disciplines.
Determine best practices and high-priority improvements for company financial and accounting processes.
Participate in formulating and administering company policies and developing long-range goals and objectives.
Monitor operational changes through ongoing contact with company management and identify areas for financial improvement.
Merger and Acquisitions (M&A):
Collaborate with the executive team on financial analysis and due diligence for potential acquisitions, including tax considerations.
Lead the integration of finance and accounting functions of prospective add-on acquisitions.
HR, Benefits, IT, and Legal:
Manage IT needs and third-party providers.
Act as the administrator for Benefits and 401(k) Plan.
Manage corporate insurance programs and the renewal process.
Ensure compliance with state registrations.
Oversee legal contracts and ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
Additional Responsibilities:
Serve as the point person in the NetSuite ERP Implementation process.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Experience:
8-10 years' experience working in a PE-backed company or a company with debt and equity holders is necessary.
Proven leadership experience, ideally in a virtual team environment.
M&A transaction experience strongly preferred.
Experience creating and maintaining a financial forecast, including knowledge of balance sheet and cash flows.
Mastery in Microsoft Excel.
Proven experience leading NetSuite ERP system implementation.
CFA designation is a plus.
Experience in HR, benefits, IT, and legal contracts management is a plus.
