The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a skilled department in the development, planning, and execution of all brand marketing, internal and external communications, media and public relations, web content and digital marketing management, social media, and graphic design.
This role is pivotal in driving the brand and growth of grassroots fundraising, which is a significant portion of the organization's operating budget.
The VP of Marketing will also be tasked with strengthening the company's thought leadership, refining marketing and brand vision, and managing relationships with world-class CMOs, agencies, and media leaders to ensure compelling messaging that advances the company's mission.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for brand building and marketing, with a proven track record of success in both strategy and execution.
They should have at least 15 years' of experience in senior marketing/brand management/communications, with a minimum of 10 years' in team management.
A strong background in multichannel marketing, including digital, and a deep understanding of media and communications in both standard and rapid response contexts are essential.
The role requires an exceptional leader who can foster a diverse and talented team, is adept at managing external resources, and can effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
The candidate should be an outstanding communicator, with a gift for storytelling and a collaborative, creative, and strategic approach to their work.
Experience in a nonprofit environment and a commitment to the values of racial justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion are also key qualifications for this position.
