Position Summary

This position is responsible for developing strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sustainable, profitable sales growth of our Wholesale, Territory, Direct-to-Consumer, and Promotional business units. The Vice President of Sales has a firm understanding of market and industry dynamics, including POS and online retail channels, and is responsible for maintaining relationships with other industry leaders and business professionals who are directly related to the relevant markets and channels. The individual must be highly ambitious to pursue new aspirational and strategic retail opportunities and uphold confidence to exit existing business that is not aligned with Tervis vision for the future.

Essential Functions

Work with the Vice President of Finance on budgets and costs for the Indirect-To-Consumer (ITC) business function.
Hire, train and develop talent to support needs of the sales and business development teams.
Identify and support the development of high-potential employees to prepare them for positions of greater responsibility in support of applicable functions.
Develops annual sales plan and rolling forecast in support of Tervis long-term strategy and financial plan.
Directs implementation and execution of sales plans, policies, and practices.
Work cross-functionally with internal partners to develop, execute and evaluate sales promotion plans, utilization of market development funds and merchandising ideas for a premium positioned brand, while ensuring execution, review and tracking of all plans and programs.
Regularly evaluate talent and organizational needs to ensure high-performing teams that can deliver ambitious, but achievable sales plans.
Collaborate with Marketing partners on tradeshow strategy and the development of brand-led sales tools.
Partner with IT and Third Party Manufacturing Partner(s) to ensure sales management efficiencies and uphold customer commitments.
Works with Marketing to ensure communications are coordinated and supports sales plan objectives while meeting organizational expenditure requirements.
Sales and business development leadership skills and expertise to define and sell business growth impact strategies and initiatives to current and potential customers.
Implement and enforce a channel strategy aligned to the brand strategy.
Coach teams, and lead as necessary, on annual operating plans, joint business planning sessions and overall reimagination of sales models.
Manage all sales channels P&L's, including discounts and allowances, chargebacks, operating expenses, etc.
Responsible for building the annual operating budget in support of annual Sales Plan.
Develop and leverage tools to effectively manage business, analyze current trends and pacing and evaluate risk and opportunity areas.
Hold team and peers accountable to specific plans and responsibilities.
Identify and keep the organization abreast of industry sales trends and standards to allow Tervis to be a competitive premium brand.

Working Conditions

Hybrid position with three (3) days in office and two (2) days remote, generally
Ability to travel up to 50% of time
Ability and willingness to work outside normal business hours when needed

Required Experience

Minimum 10 years experience as an accomplished sales rep in consumer goods industry required.
Minimum 5 years' managing a sales team.
Hands-on knowledge of sales planning, implementation, and experience in multiple channels of distribution.
Proven track record of delivering planned objectives, penetrating senior levels of customer organizations.
Influential and energetic leader with a strong sense of urgency to create a sustainable winning culture.
Mix of traditional consumer packaged goods experience coupled with entrepreneurial spirit for growing a family-owned business.
Experienced people manager, known for building high performing teams and helping individual team members reach their potential.
Must exhibit highly developed influencing, negotiation, and collaboration-building skills.
Ability to interact with all employee levels, including senior management.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Strong proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Polished written and spoken communication skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and to work independently, with minimal supervision.
