Responsible for planning, overseeing and coordinating the operations of the company, including Warehousing, Order Processing, Transportation, Customer Service, IT Infrastructure, Inventory Control, and related staff, to achieve established policies, goals, and operating objectives. Works as a highly effective leader and key member of the executive team, interdepartmentally, and within functional areas of oversite to drive efficiency and effectiveness in achieving the company Mission and Vision while executing on the strategic plan to achieve financial goals. Essential Job Functions: · As a key member of the executive team, work jointly to analyze markets, develop strategy, and roadmap execution steps for continuous improvement of measurable customer value while simultaneously reducing costs and improving productivity. · Lead the operations teams on the path to continuously improving the quality and efficiency of existing operations by implementing new systems and/or improving upon existing procedures, to achieve a safe, high quality, cost-efficient, and customer focused operations; key areas of focus are inventory, fleet management, labor management, safety, customer service, order processing and driving creation and implementation of SOP's. · Demonstrate experience and working knowledge of the systems and drive improvement to ensure that department, branch and company goals are met. · Evaluate new opportunities and develop (with the team) robust operational solutions. · Manage and improve corporate operational relationships, for achieving lowest cost with improved service methods. · Manage new business implementation with strong project management process on a timely basis · Understand and maintain compliance at all operational stages for industry and associated regulatory requirements · Maintain inventory accuracy and quality, ensure the efficient processing of returns, warranty items, and freight claims. · Oversee and/or implement safety programs, including evaluating unsafe work practices and analysis of work comp claims management to improve experience modifier and overall employee safety · Working with the executive team to assist with setting policies, procedures, and systems and following through with implementation, consistently advising of progress · Develop and implement warehouse and logistics operational systems and procedures to provide required information for all operational activities · Organizational development including the hiring, development, management and leading of staff including warehouse, transportation and branch managers · Along with the executive team, maintain strong relationships and personal interactions with key vendors. · Foster understanding and excitement around the companies Mission, Vision, and Values and connect the dots between everyday activities and how they are extensions of these goals and values. Collateral Duties: · Perform other tasks and special projects as directed by President/CEO Minimum Requirements: · Minimum 10 years supervisory experience as a Director or VP of Operations or equivalent, in the manufacturing or distribution industry. Experience managing, leading and training teams within a manufacturing/distribution operation with at least 50 employees Substantial six sigma/lean process/kaizen or related knowledge and experience a plus. Bachelor's Degree Experience successfully managing an operational budget. Strong knowledge of information technology and relevant application. Excellent communication skills to effectively deal with different functional managers. Excellent prioritizing and organizational, and decision-making skills Ability to communicate and present data to varying levels of the organization and outside contacts.
