WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The Vice President, Regional Controller is responsible for overseeing the company-wide regional accounting reporting to ensure monthly financial information is delivered accurately and within deadlines. The individual in this position provides accounting and financial support to assist finance and operations management in making educated economic decisions about the business' future. Additionally, this position will provide oversight and help in managing the monthly Close process for all regions. The Vice President, Regional Controller will work closely with corporate departments regarding accounting and budgetary deliverables. This role will also form an integral part of providing insights into process improvement initiatives.
A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR DAY
Oversee the month end close cycle including reconciliation, GL review, and preparation of revenue and expenses.
Guide and assist with the activities of field accounting and/or finance department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external financial statements, audits, and budgets, and do so according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Conduct in depth analysis for financial opportunities within each category of the P&L. Work with large amounts of data to form standard reporting tools for finance teams.
Supervise the Director of Accounts Payable, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all payables and purchase orders.
Oversee and/or provide detailed reporting and analyses of monthly financial information to include revenue and cost variances and trend analysis.
Assist field operations management in the onboarding & training of Business Unit accounting personnel.
Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner. Engage in critical and confidential aspects of accounting.
Work closely with IT staff to attain accurate and necessary reporting from systems.
Perform other projects, duties, and tasks, as assigned.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE
CPA required.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other related field required.
7-10 years of related work experience required managing teams.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications especially Word and Excel.
Must have advanced knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
Demonstrated ability to lead, challenge and positively influence teams, including coaching, development, and performance management in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Understanding of experience with complex accounting, internal controls, financial systems, and processes.
Direct experience with annual audits.
Superior communication skills (written and verbal) including a proven ability to engage with senior executives (both within Accounting, Finance as well as more broadly within the organization).
Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills; business acumen; leadership skills; oral and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills.
Commitment to delivering quality results and overcoming obstacles and challenges in a time sensitive environment.
Excellent problem solving, relationship management and critical thinking skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects, meetings, and deadlines.
