Vice President, Software Engineering

This role will work hybrid from our American Fork, UT location.

The Vice President of Software Engineering serves as the engineering leader for all North American applications and integrations.
This role oversees all software engineering activities and teams within the North American business units of Henry Schein One.
The VP is responsible for ensuring the development and delivery of innovative, competitive, and high-quality software solutions that meet strategic business objectives.
What You Will DoSoftware Development Leadership:Lead product software development, quality assurance, and collaborate closely on architecture, infosec and deployment functionsDirect the overall engineering effort to deliver new or enhanced products to market on scheduleChampion modern software development approaches, methodologies, and design patterns to drive innovation and efficiencyAct as a customer champion through engagement and problem solving with a track record solving customer issues and creating system improvements that directly impact customersStrategic Leadership:Formulate and implement software development programs, policies, and procedures to maintain competitive advantageEngage with internal stakeholders (leadership, sales, product management, marketing, and business development) and external stakeholders (customers, partners) to drive product and service expansionServe as a member of the senior engineering leadership team to shape and execute the strategic direction of the companyBe seen and heard as an industry expert and trusted advisor to industry partners and customersCultural Leadership:Promote Team Schein values by fostering an environment of respect, collaboration, and inclusivity across all levels of the organizationEmbody and advocate for the cultural beliefs of the HS1 engineering organizationOrganizational Leadership:Act as a role model for the engineering division, setting a standard of excellence for human capital managementParticipate in the global leadership team, contributing to the overall business strategyAdditional Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with company policies and worldwide business standards in all work-related tasksParticipate in special projects and perform other duties as requiredTravel/Physical DemandsTravel typically less than 20%Office environment with no special physical demands requiredQualificationsWhat You Will Have:15+ years of progressive management and leadership experience in an executive level engineering positionBachelor's degree or global equivalent in related disciplineExperience leading cross geography, global teams in the size of 200+ full-time employees and 100+ nearshore and offshore resourcesExperience with multiple products and software languagesExperience or knowledge of IT/Architecture/Security/InfrastructureExperience in managing a budget of $35-$40 million USDDeep technical knowledge and expertiseExcellent written and verbal communication skillsNice To Haves:Master's Degree in a related disciplineThe posted range for this position is $255,000 to $325,000, which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role.
Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.
This position is eligible for a target bonus not reflected in the posted range.
