JOB SUMMARY:
Provides the video department with expert knowledge in live video operation, simple to medium complexity system design, installation, and system controls. Collaborates with other departments and partners, with the conceptualizing/utilization of live video systems for a project, event, or entertainment offering. Represents Entertainment Division to internal and external partners including but not limited to Senior Executive Leadership (up to UPR CEO), Events Sales, and national headline acts.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Functions as point-person for all Universal Orlando Entertainment video show systems as they relate to marquee events, special events, entertainment operations venues and in-park displays.
Functions as operator of video switcher and equipment for live shows across Universal Orlando property. Includes coordination/direction of multiple cameras and content playback based on project scope.
Maintains and organizes material acquisition and installation. Communicates with team, regarding maintenance, troubleshooting, and show status to achieve superior show quality.
Partners with the Editor and Designer for the editing and compilation of Entertainment video for display as relates to project scope, in marquee events, special events, entertainment operations venues and in park displays.
Assists Designers for Entertainment production shoots and post-production needs.
Stays up-to-date on technology trends to advance production capabilities.
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Technical school, Associate degree, or Bachelor's preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Minimum of 5 years' experience within the assigned technical discipline.
Expert level knowledge of live show camera operation, signal flow, installing and operating projectors, LED walls, and video systems, and computer skills including Microsoft office.
Advanced level knowledge of non-linear editing systems such as Adobe Premier
Proficient knowledge of assisting on video production shoots
3-5 years' experience providing work direction.
Preferred:
Minimum of 7 years' experience within the assigned technical discipline.
Prior experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
