A Brief OverviewThe Videographer/Editor is responsible for producing, shooting, and editing engaging video content related to our Kings events, athletes and games. This includes producing highlight reels, feature stories, and behind-the-scenes footage. This role's editing focus will help with piecing together footage, adding graphics, and creating compelling visual stories. They will work closely with the Production staff to create all of the original video content for the LA Kings.
What you will doIndependently brainstorm and implement new and exciting concepts for content including highlight sizzles and story-driven episodics from concept formation through final cut; initiate/self-produce/film content pieces within a specified deadline. Creative content the Producer makes may be distributed throughout LA Kings social channels and in-arena activations, as well as on TV.Work on location as a camera operator/producer during games, practices, media availabilities, interviews, and studio shoots. This includes LA Kings road games.Organize media on-site and ensure proper organization of assets on internal server.Edit projects from start to finish ranging from simple interviews, all-access documentaries, branded content, sizzle reels, and everything in-between.Stay up to date on new equipment and techniques and pitch new ideas for content series or one-off social videos.Education QualificationsBA/BS Degree (4-year) in Journalism, TV/Film Production, Digital Media, or a related area.
Experience Qualifications4-6 years of related work experience to include 3 years of film editing.Experience with audio mixing and color correcting in Adobe Premiere.Experience field producing features through host and non-hosted shoots with elite-level talent.Familiarity with RED Cameras and workflow preferred.Prior experience with live sports is a plus.Skills and AbilitiesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) for effective interaction with all levels within the company and outside the company.Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Premiere, Media Encoder and Photoshop.Firm understanding of video compression and standard codecs used for broadcast and digital.Creative and skilled in non-linear storytelling.Ability to produce content through written scripts, interviews and b-roll.Ability to work efficiently in a highly demanding and time-sensitive environment.Ability to be flexible under pressure.Strong sense of project ownership and dedication to delivering outstanding results.Excellent time management skills. Be able to complete projects under deadline with little supervision.Should have a sense of humor and have experience working with a team.Basic knowledge of Adobe After Effects is a plus.Strong knowledge of lighting techniques and sound recording preferred.Strong eye for detail. Be able to notice a missing frame or out-of-sync audio preferred.Must be available to work nights, holidays, weekends and travel during the hockey season (September – June).Must include links to portfolio and work examples.Pay Scale: $67,000-$75,000
